The tour started in Turin: the former royal seat and capital of Italy, the city today combines its industrial past (Fiat) with culture, art and good food.
The journey continued to the hilly landscape of the Langhe and Roero to Pollenzo, home to the University of Gastronomic Sciences, an internationally recognised private university founded by the Slow Food movement to promote a sustainable, conscious and diverse food culture.
The programme included the International Truffle Fair in the charming town of Alba, truffle hunting with dogs on a small vineyard and, of course, delicious specialities and wine.

To bid farewell to Piedmont, we visited a renowned grappa distillery and the trip came to an end with an elegant lunch in the beautifully restored surroundings.
